One of the pros for living in California is you get a lot of activities in just a few hours. Since we live in the Bay Area (NorCal), we could drive 6 hours to Yosemite, 6 hours to LA, 2 hours to Napa, and 2 hours to Big Sur!
In June 2012, Cuong and I took a fun camping trip to Big Sur with Sunali and Huy. I was quite impressed with the shower pressure there which was what I was worried about. Sorry I forgot which place but every campsite in Big Sur is nice. You must reserve in advance since they book up quickly.
Before heading to our camping spot on Saturday, we enjoyed some brunch at
Katy's Place in Carmel. Their lobster avocado omelet is awesome. To work out brunch, we hiked to a small place north of big sur for an hour or so. Once we go to our campsite and put up the tent, we walked around and found a nice river before heading back to prep for dinner by the fire. Must remember to bring lots of mosquito repellents!
I love grilling some meat and s'mores while enjoying the outdoors with good company. Sadly we have not gone back camping since life took over. But we plan to camp next month with some friends!
